Our very first contest we organize!

What do you have to do?
All you have to do is, hack a Mario, Kirby or Pokémon (Diamond/Pearl/Platina/Heart Gold/Soul Silver only) DS game, other than Mario Kart DS.
All entries will be posted on this site.

What’s the price?
What’s a contest without prices?
The best hack will get a month free RapidShare Premium Account.
The second best hack gets free* webhosting on our servers.

* Free as long as you choose a sub-domain from one of our domains.
Own domains can be registered with your own money.

We at the DSHack Team (NeoWynaut, Anabell (GirlKart on YouTube) and me) are discussing about the possibility to make DSHack international, so not only DSHack.org, but also DSHack.nl, DSHack.pl, DSHack.be, DSHack.es, DSHack.jp, DSHack.us, etc.

We now want to know from you guys and gals, Do it, or Hell no?
If so, we’ll look for people around the world, which also have their paid webhoster.

Requirements:
Payment for a domain name and webhosting.
Good contact with the existing DSHack Team.
Own site with own forum.
Own hacks and share your hacks with the other Team.
Knowledge to hacking.

You get:
Own site and forum.
Many members which join you.
Own language.
Internal hacks (hacks made by one of the DSHack Teams) first.

You don’t get:
Moderator or Administrator rights of the other Teams forum/site (unless the Team wants else).

This hack is in pre-alpha, so there’s a lot of changes left.

2011 will be a great party year at DSHack.
DSHack gets 10 years in 2011, but also, The Mario Kart CW Project gets 5 years in 2011.
So that means 2 Mario Kart CW’s!

Mario Kart CW Beta 3.0
Surprise!
That the Final ROM is good hackable today, doesn’t mean we’ve left the Beta ROM.
Mario Kart CW Beta had 1.0 in 2006, 2.0 in 2007, and 2.1 in 2008, while Mario Kart CW had Final in 2009 and X in 2010.
Now 3.0 is coming in 2011 in the Beta branche, having a major update:

• The “Demo Version” logo will be removed.
• Replaced tracks get their own music.
• Most unused tracks get their respawns.
• One track gets the unused music.
• Bottom Map screens from MKCWX.
• Menu text changes.
• All tracks have to work for all Flash Cards and Emulators.*

That’s why I’ve discarded the small hack, I promised for today.
I realized that people want to see something bigger.

Mario Kart CW XL (working title)
New year means now version!
No, that L after X is not marking as a sequel to Mario Kart CW X, but as a bigger hack than X was.
Like people which have a big body, and need big cloths, they know XL as eXtra Large.
Mario Kart CW XL also marks this.
But keep in mind that this is just a working title, and can been changed at anytime.
These will come:

• Shy Guy.
• Luigi Flipper gets a background.
• Replaced tracks get the title screen music.
• Most unused tracks get their respawns.
• GC Mario Circuit gets GCN Luigi/Yoshi Circuit’s music.
• More Bottom Map screens.
• Finished Italian language.

Release dates:
Mario Kart CW Beta 3.0 is set to release on the day Beta 1.0 came out (June 26th, 2011).
Mario Kart CW XL is set to release on the day Mario Kart CW Final came out (April 2nd, 2011).
First videos and screenshots coming soon.

* Not 100% sure that would happen, but we’ll see how far the hacking comes in the future.
