You know, in Xfce Linux, there are 3 icons that will spoil your desktop, and an icon to all the USB, CD, DVD or DVD DL stations.
Let's clean it up and make your desktop feel for 100% clean (instead of the 99% of Windows).


As you can see, this are the icons.
However, you can't delete them.
So just right click somewhere and choose Desktop Preferences (or Applications > Settings > Settings Manager > Desktop).

Go to the Behaviour tab.
And where you see "Show icons for:", turn off all of them.

Results, your desktop is for 100% clean.
You can do this in GNOME and KDE too, but I don't know how.
I never use KDE and I only use GNOME sometimes.
