A quick question about laps...

Utterrandomness Hello all, I am Utterrandomness, and I play MKDS Time Trials on the players page.

I was trying out the tracks from the MK64 DS hack (which were very nicely done). After trying them out, I felt that, in order to make it easier for me to save a ghost, and also to stop the tracks from being an endurance marathon, I should reduce the tracks to just a single lap.

Having played the straight line track, as well as test circle, I do at least know that this can be done, but I was wondering if there was any way that I, a complete novice at track editing, could possibly do this myself, using the tools available? Thanks in advance :)

SGC Yellow First of welcome to DSHack, now if you want to reduce the tracks to one lap, in the NKM editor in MKDSCM. (I don't know if it's in EFE, or MKTB). Just open the NKM of any track you like and modify the number of Laps in the STAGE tab.

MKGirlism Nope, it's not possible with EFE and MKTB, I just checked it while replying.

Oh yeah, since SGC forgot to say so, it's not possible to save ROMs in MKDSCM, so you'll need to extract/repack the ROM either with EFE, or with NDSTool.

Svenskig You technically could use a hex editor to find the STAG section, and change the lap count manually..

Utterrandomness Thank you, SGC! I got it to work correctly!

I forgot to mention that I had done nds packing/unpacking in the past to add custom tracks, so all of that was no problem.
