CosmicEternity Long time no see, guys!

Anyway, Yami just PM'd me on the Red Hat Café that I could have a second chance on this forum, after seeing a "radical change" in my behaviour over the past two years since I was banned, so here I am, back again, although won't be doing any ROM hacking, just mainly chilling out with the rest of the existing community here.

If you haven't a clue who I am from my profile, I was known back then as Luigi442wii. Up until a month ago, I've been using random usernames, but last month decided to settle with 'CosmicEternity', which is the name of a song from Sonic the Hedgehog CD. I'm from the UK (obviously), and am into retro games, Nintendo/Sony games, and computing. I wouldn't call myself a professional gamer or a tech enthusiast however. My main hobby is browsing message boards over various topics.

I hope I enjoy my stay here :)

CosmicEternity Super Mario Kart
Mario Circuit 2, Koopa Beach 2, Rainbow Road
Favourite: Rainbow Road - the road layout is simplistic but it's challenging in reality.

Mario Kart 64
Choco Mountain, Wario Stadium, Royal Raceway
Favourite: Royal Raceway - many curves and turns.

Mario Kart: Super Circuit
Riverside Park, Luigi Circuit, Ribbon Road
Favourite: Ribbon Road - the shortcut near the beginning and the overall layout

Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
Waluigi Stadium, Bowser's Castle, Rainbow Road
Favourite: Rainbow Road - the music mostly

Mario Kart DS
Waluigi Pinball , Tick-Tock Clock, Split-Up Beach
Favourite: Waluigi Pinball - music, layout

Haven't played MKW in a long time, and don't own MK7 or MK8.
By the way, I understand I bumped an older thread, but it is more or less contributing to what the OP asked for, so eh.
Thread: Who does netplay with emulators?
Author Posted on 2016/12/27
CosmicEternity Just wondering, maybe we could set up a few matches here and there with the DSHack community, once every while or so over netplay. Though I understand most people here have things like NNID and PSN, it's always nice to play the classics, and netplay is really fun once you have it all set up and running.

I first got into netplay a few days ago thanks to the Kaillera-enabled modification of Project64 - Project64k, and have played a few MK64 matches with LKRJC, Night and EzioisAwesome56. I also have ZSNES 1.36 set up for netplay, I played almost all courses of SMK with Zelinon, which was with little lag and a fun experience indeed. I've never had friends to play the games with on their actual systems, or such, so it's great for me to experience the multiplayer modes of the games with the netplay functions of emulators. ^^

Anyone else do netplay and who wants to organise, I don't know, a 4-player battle on Mario Kart 64, or a game on Mario Party (great if we want to split the staff team jk), for example? It'd be pretty fun IMO. :)

CosmicEternity "- iOS and Android Apps (probably just some HTML wrapper?)."
Isn't iOS a pain to get approved onto the App Store? Then again, you could always release on Cydia or just make a Web-App for iOS devices.

Also, I can't think of anything else that could be added to the list, you've come up with a lot of excellent ideas and changes yourself :)
Thread: Windows 10, a full list on why it sucks
Author Posted on 2016/12/30
CosmicEternity You failed to mention that since July 2015 Windows Vista and Windows 7 are completely unable to receive updates, if you do a fresh install. Plus that after major updates Classic Shell gets uninstalled for 'compatibility' reasons. While I do use Windows 10, and do like it, part of me has to agree with a lot of your points that it can be very annoying for a lot of users.

CosmicEternity Hey Elemi/Nyanners! It's strange, because that username (Luigi45000vr) rings a bell from years ago. Not sure why it does, but it just seems to. Also, the correct term is "derpboards". Welcome to the community!

Also, hello to you, ZacktheYoshiFromg! I hope to see your CT input here!
Thread: Rate Your Programming Languages
Author Posted on 2017/01/08
CosmicEternity Do you want to add that HTML/CSS are not programming languages, but rather just markup and styling for webpages? A couple people might get confused and put them down on here, especially those inexperienced in general.

I'm thinking of learning PHP or Python, what would you recommend to learn first? (Looking for whatever one would be easier, lighter and more clean, typically, or are they not good places to start for web development?)

It can be a nice thing to play on NetPlay servers with emulators that support the Kaillera system ! But if you want to play on N64 games online against me, I would prefer to use Mupen64++ because, y'know... No desync, saving games online, all that stuff :P

Hey, since you're from France, we won't have that bad of lag between each other if we do Netplay on Kaillera. I have Mupen64++ and have used that one more recently than Project64k after a desync happened one time. If we also get the MOD for SM64 multiplayer that would be fun, though I'd play MK64 if you want some time. Just got to recover my ROM set for GoodN64, because I lost it when I had to format my hard drive.

CosmicEternity If this actually becomes a thing it'd be nice to host a kaillera server for the community itself, although we'd need to get a server that's in a good position for the users. I know how to set up a kaillera server using emulinker on a home PC.

Well, what doesn't work in VMWare?

Well, Ubuntu doesn't work in VirtualBox, for some odd reason...

I don't think anything doesn't work in VMWare. Heck, I managed to get Longhorn 3718 to work with proper sound in VMWare, it was a huge pain trying to get the sound to work, but still. Seems VMWare is a lot more compatible (and faster on this Celeron N3050) than VirtualBox, though I have both installed.

CosmicEternity @MKGirlism: Installed Xubuntu on a Windows 10 host in VirtualBox and it works fine... :/
Also one thing that does break in VMWare on Windows 8+ hosts is sound in an XP guest.
